In order to have your Student ID card ready for you upon your arrival, we ask that you submit a color passport style photo that show from the top of your shoulders to the top of your head.
By submitting this photo you agree this photo may be used by Tufts University. If you have questions about use of your Tufts Univesity ID card photo please email us at TuftsID@tufts.edu or call us at 617-627-3692.
When taking your photo, please use the following as guidelines to ensure your photo is accepted:
- Expression & Eyes: Natural expression, eyes open, looking at the camera.
- Lighting & Color: Proper brightness/contrast, natural skin tones, no fluorescent lighting.
- Position & Background: Face camera directly, head centered, plain white/off-white background.
- Clarity & Resolution: Clear facial features, high resolution, no red eye.
- Format & Content: Color photo, recent (last 6 months), .jpg preferred, no costumes/hats, no other objects/people.
- Warning: Photos must not have filters or be AI generated in order to comply with photo guidelines – remember, it needs to look like you!
Your photo must be a JPEG or HEIC file type larger than 290 x 290 dimensions.
If needed, you can use the tool on this page to rotate, crop or resize your photo. You can also remove the file and start over. When you are satisfied, continue to Step 4.
Make sure the photo looks accurate to what you would like. The example card the photo is on may not represent your card type.
With a successful upload of your photo you will be presented with a confirmation message that your photo was submitted. You will then be notified by email if your photo was approved or declined with your next steps.
Your next step after your photo is approved is to schedule an appointment to get your ID at Calendly.com/TuftsID. Your Tufts University ID card will then be printed and available for pickup at your scheduled time. You will need to bring a government-issued ID to your appoinment. Thank you.
